We're delighted to introduce our newest VAEP Advisory Committee member, Al Trimble. Al is a recently retired Marine Corps Colonel, and his last post was as Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA. Al's leadership put the MCLB Albany defense community at the vanguard of critical infrastructure, energy security, and resilience. Al is deeply engaged in community building as well as civic action. Most recently, he hosted the 2021 Black Engineer of the Year’s “National Prospective on Global Energy” STEM mentorship panel. Al will add enormous value to the Veterans Advanced Energy Project and we're lucky to have him on board.

We also bid farewell to Joe Bryan. As a Nonresident Senior Fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center, Joe anchored our Advisory Committee and generously shared his deep understanding of energy and environmental security. Joe's vision and practical counsel were fundamental to an evolving VAEP and he helped steer us clear of shoals during the COVID pandemic. VAEP congratulates Joe on his well-deserved appointment as Senior Advisor on Climate and Energy Security to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. We wish Joe well and we're confident that our Department of Defense will benefit enormously from his leadership.
