Consumers Energy sponsors Veterans Advanced Energy Week, August 2-6, 2021

Consumers Energy (www.consumersenergy.com) joins the 2021 Veterans Advanced Energy Week as a Silver Sponsor in support of veterans and military spouses working to strengthen US national security through careers in the advanced energy industry.

About Consumers Energy: Consumers Energy is Michigan’s largest energy provider, providing natural gas and/or electricity to 6.8 million of the state’s 10 million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties. Each year, Consumers Energy is adding more clean, renewable, solar-generated electricity for Michigan with plans for 1,100 megawatts of utility-scale solar to come online between 2022 and 2024. The company’s solar ramp-up will continue throughout the coming decade. By 2040, clean, renewable fuel sources such as solar and wind will comprise more than 60 percent of the company’s electric capacity.

Veterans Advanced Energy Week is scheduled August 2-6, 2021. Participants will gain insights into the technology, policy, and economic trends that are driving the global energy transition from senior leaders and experts across industry, academia, and government. Opportunities will also be provided to help participants develop networks with other veterans, supporters, and potential employers through company introductions, a resume database, and job board postings.
