The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (www.mwalliance.org) joins Veterans Advanced Energy Week as a sponsor in support of veterans and military spouses working to strengthen US national security through careers in the advanced energy industry. MEEA has continued its support of the Veterans Advanced Energy Project since 2017.

Veterans Advanced Energy Week is scheduled August 10-13, 2020. Participants will gain insights into the technology, policy, and economic trends that are driving the global energy transition from senior leaders and experts across industry, academia, and government. Opportunities will also be provided to help participants develop networks with other veterans, supporters, and potential employers through company introductions, a resume database, and job board postings.

Energy efficiency employs 2.3 million people in the US, and energy efficiency jobs make up over 30% of all military veteran employment in the energy industry. Military service gives veterans technical experience and knowledge in energy systems that are directly applicable to energy jobs. Veterans also bring a suite of soft skills as a result of their military training and work in high stress situations.

The Veterans Advanced Energy Project is designed to drive US leadership in advanced energy by recruiting, equipping, and empowering military veterans who understand the importance of the evolving energy landscape to our future security and prosperity. The Veterans Advanced Energy Project is a managed by the Global Energy Center within the Atlantic Council, a nonpartisan 501(c)3 nonprofit. www.AtlanticCouncil.org
