VETERAN ENERGY ENTREPRENEURS KEVIN JOHNSON (CLEAN CAPITAL, GLIDEPATH FEDERAL SOLUTIONS), JON GENSLER (REVIVE ENERGY), AND TROY VAN BEEK (IDEAL ENERGY SOLAR) DISCUSS THEIR EXPERIENCES AT THE 2019 VETERANS ADVANCED ENERGY SUMMIT, CO-SPONSORED BY TRUMAN NATIONAL SECURITY PROJECT’S OPERATION FREE, MODERATED BY SARAH NIELSEN, VETERANS ADVANCED ENERGY FELLOW.

Last year, Truman National Security Project’s OPERATION FREE co-sponsored the top-voted session at the 2019 Veterans Advanced Energy Summi: “What Can I Do? The Veteran Entrepreneur Perspective” (pictured)—a panel discussion with veteran energy entrepreneurs on their experiences, motivation, and challenges. Military service gives veterans technical experience and knowledge in energy systems that are directly applicable to energy jobs. Veterans also bring a suite of soft skills as a result of their military training and work in high stress situations.

The Veterans Advanced Energy Project is designed to drive US leadership in advanced energy by recruiting, equipping, and empowering military veterans who understand the importance of the evolving energy landscape to our future security and prosperity.
